Born in 1994 in Russia, Katy Kann is a contemporary realist painter. She grew up in Monaco, a small principality in the South of France. Her hometown has inspired her with all its beautiful landscapes and luxuries and from as early as 10 years old she was recognized in her school for having evident artistic talents. Her progression in painting flourished till the age of 18 when she was invited to have her debut solo exhibition at the Yacht Club of Monaco.
Being raised in an artistic family with her mother being a classical ballet dancer and her grandparents mastering in the arts, it gave her the love and desire to produce art that is intense and rewarding. Her grandfather introduced her to the delicate and mystical theme of nudity which can be seen in her upcoming ‘Carnality’ series. Having several other fascinations in the industry of the arts she received a GIA diploma as an accredited jewelry professional and in 2012 left abroad to study Architecture at the University of Manchester. Nevertheless painting to this day remains to her as a profound passion and a full-time commitment as she continues to accept both small and large scale painting commissions using the highest quality oil painting pigments.
